Dr. Andrea Harrington serves on the faculty of the University of Mississippi Law School as the Associate Director of the LLM in Air and Space Law Program / the National Center for Remote Sensing, Air, and Space Law Air and Space Law Instructor/Research Counsel. She is a licensed Massachusetts attorney. Andrea is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Space Law. During her doctoral study, she was an Erin J.C. Arsenault Fellow in Space Governance at the McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law, focused on insurance and liability issues for the commercial space industry. She holds a DCL and LLM from the McGill IASL, as well as a JD from the University of Connecticut, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Boston University. While at McGill, Andrea earned numerous awards, including the: P.E.O. Scholar Award, IAWA Scholarship, SWF Young Professionals IAC Scholarship, and Setsuko Ushioda-Aoki Prize. Andrea has served as Assistant Editor for the Annals of Air and Space Law, Jr. Project Manager for Secure World Foundation, and researcher on projects for the FAA Center of Excellence for Commercial Space Transportation, IAASS, ICAO, and Space Security Index. Prior to transitioning to air and space law, Andrea obtained a combined 5+ years of experience in the insurance and financial compliance fields. In her spare time, she volunteers with a beagle rescue organization and is an avid follower of science fiction.
